Who funds Ballot Builder? Ballot Builder is a privately funded entity of Round Three, LLC that is owned and operated out of Knoxville, TN. What is Ballot Builder? Ballot Builder is a tool designed to help the voters discover, select and share their favorite political candidates. Where is Ballot Builder located? Ballot Builder is owned and operated out of Knoxville, TN. All Round Three servers are located within the continental United States. Why was Ballot Builder created? The idea for Ballot Builder grew first out of an information deficit – 2020 elections had come and gone and, especially in this age of information, knowledge about candidates was often conflicted and hard to come by, especially at a local level. Our vision is for a level playing field where candidates can communicate their beliefs and perspectives directly to voters. How was the information sourced for Ballot Builder? Candidates can create and populate accounts themselves. Our research team works to verify candidate information directly from local governments including, secretaries of state, city and county clerks, etc. How do I contact Ballot Builder? What is “Virtual Ballot”? The “Virtual Ballot” feature allows you to save candidates you plan to vote for, in one place, so you can head to the polls ready to cast your vote. How do I save candidates to virtual ballot? There is an “Add to Virtual Ballot” button on each candidate’s profile page. Simply click that and the candidate will be saved to your ballot. How can I access virtual ballot after I create it? Your ballot will be saved within your Ballot Builder account. You can log in and see your ballot from any device. Who can see my saved ballot? Once you choose to create an account and save a ballot with us, your ballot will be secured separately from your personal information. Only those you choose to share your ballot with can see your ballot. How can I share virtual ballot? Using the “Share” button on your ballot page, you can text, email, or post your ballot. Supported social media sites include Facebook, Instagram, etc. Can I submit my legal vote through Ballot Builder? No, you cannot. Ballot Builder is a tool to help you prepare to vote. Federal Law requires that you vote either at a designated voting location or file an absentee ballot through your state. We recommend you read your state’s voting guidelines for details.
Do I need an account to build a ballot? Yes, only those with an account can save candidates to a ballot. What are the benefits of creating an account? By creating a voter account, you can save your ballot for future reference, you can also follow certain candidates or elections and receive updates when things change. What information from my account is stored or tracked? Ballot Builder believes in voter confidentiality and will not save your name/information in connection with the candidates you follow or save. We will track the number of times a candidate is saved or followed and the number of times a candidate donation button is clicked. How can I close my account? You can close your account by clicking “delete account” at the bottom of your profile page.
Why are some candidates referred to as “verified”? “Verified” candidates have been verified through government entities once their state filing has closed, and the list has been released. Can I sign up to receive information from specific candidates? Yes! You can follow candidates to receive updates whenever the candidate updates their page. You can also follow specific elections and be updated when new candidates are added to that election. Why aren’t my candidates the same as the signs I see in town? Candidates can place road signs throughout their community. Commonly, those signs are placed close to district lines. Districts change with the census and lines can change without voters knowing. Where does the list of candidates come from? Candidates can create accounts themselves. Our research team works to verify candidate information directly from local governments including secretaries of state, city and county clerks, etc. Does ballot builder fact check or sensor candidate videos? Ballot Builder does not fact check candidate videos or statements. The entire purpose of Ballot Builder is to allow candidates the opportunity of an unfiltered platform to speak directly to voters. If illegal activity is captured on video, Ballot Builder will remove the video and report the activity to the authorities.
How do I donate to a candidate? Each candidate page has a “Donate” button. Once you click it, you will be directed to the candidate’s donation account. What are the specifics for how my donations are handled? i.e. how much of the donation does the candidate receive, where is my payment information stored, how do I request a refund, etc. Refer directly to the terms of use for each candidate’s donation account.
Who can set up a Candidate Account? Anyone who intends to run for an American political office, has a verified Tax Identification Number and valid driver’s license can create an account. What are the benefits of a candidate account? A candidate account allows you to communicate directly to voters by posting videos addressing key issues during your campaign. You can also attach your donation account to Ballot Builder so that voters can give to your campaign seamlessly. Why are the various membership options? A free account allows you to create a profile for your campaign and upload 3 videos to your page. The video plan allows you to upload an unlimited number of videos to your page. The donation plan allows you to connect your donation account to your Ballot Builder page. The pro plan allows you to have both the video and donation plan for a discounted cost. The pro plan also includes engagement analytics. How do you verify that I am a candidate? We verify your information through your EIN and Drivers License. Once filing in your location is closed, we will verify that you are on the ballot. Can I receive donations through Ballot Builder? Yes, simply upgrade to the donation or pro plan and connect your current donation page to Ballot Builder. Are there any statistics available to me? Yes. If you upgrade to the pro plan, you will be able to access data such as, how many times you have been followed, saved to a ballot or have received donations clicks. How do I communicate to the voters with Ballot Builder? You can communicate directly to voters by uploading videos to your profile page addressing key issues and events related to your election. Upgrade to the video or pro plan to upload an unlimited number of videos. How to voters communicate with me? Voters cannot communicate directly to you through Ballot Builder. They cannot comment on videos or send direct messages to candidates. How do I deactivate my account? Click the “deactivate account” at the bottom of your profile page.
